Moeyungyi wetland is situated in the Bago Division, about 70 miles north of Yangon, by the Yangon-Mandalay highway. It is just a two-hour drive from Yangon. The area is transformed from a water storage reservoir which was built in 1878 into wetlands and later before becoming a wildlife sanctuary. With its long history, this place is an ideal spot for guests to enjoy natural landscapes. For overnight travelers, Moeyungyi Resort is always ready to serve. The Resort is a cluster of 10 boat-shaped houses, 2 family type Duplex bungalows, built in the wetlands. It is an ideal base for wetlands excursions as boat cruises depart from there. The houses are designed to suit the native lifestyle. Moe Yun Gyi Wildlife Sanctuary & Wetlands Resort is a fantastic place for bird lovers as guests can easily explore these natural lives around the area. The best season to visit is from November to March. In addition to bird watching, you can observe the livelihood of the local populace, fauna, and flora of the wetlands.
